Dyslexia is sometimes referred to as a hidden difference as someone cannot tell by looking at you that you have it. This means that you can often be faced with the decision of whether to disclose or tell someone that you are dyslexic.
Disclosure is always your choice. There may be some situations where you might need to disclose your dyslexia, for example, if you are seeking support in college or at work. At other times, disclosure may be something you really want to do, to share this important information with a family member or friend.
Our voices of dyslexia reflect on their different experiences of disclosing their dyslexia. They also share some advice on how to share your dyslexia.
